The Saranda is one of the most ancient and revered bowed instruments in Sikh tradition, personally designed by Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Crafted to accompany Gurbani Kirtan, the Saranda’s deep, melancholic sound evokes a sense of inner stillness and devotion.
Carved from a single block of wood and traditionally covered with goatskin, the Saranda produces a warm, resonant tone ideal for conveying the emotion and depth of the Raags.
